This year’s meeting is organized by the Laboratory for Molecular Infection Medicine Sweden (MIMS). It brings together mainly the group leaders, postdoctoral researchers, and PhD students of the Nordic EMBL Partnership for Molecular Medicine with researchers from EMBL and its broader network to discuss their research, develop new ideas and initiate new projects.
The Nordic EMBL Partnership for Molecular Medicine is a major strategic player in Europe’s efforts towards understanding molecular mechanisms of disease. This is made possible by the complementary research expertise of its four partners, DANDRITE (Aarhus University, Denmark), FIMM (University of Helsinki, Finland), NCMM (University of Oslo, Norway) and MIMS (Umeå University, Sweden), who attract the very best international research talent by providing an excellent research environment for young, talented researchers, who often continue their scientific careers in one of the Nordic countries.
The Nordic EMBL Partnership implements EMBL´s research strategy and operational model by facilitating scientific collaboration and access to scientific infrastructure, including databases and instrumentation, as well as services and training activities. In addition to their partnership with EMBL, the individual Nordic research centres engage in collaborations with other national partners, including research and public health institutes, hospitals and research councils, with the aim of establishing an extensive Nordic network for molecular medicine.
